HMS Collingwood Field Gun Event

Saturday 6th July 2024 saw the HMS Collingwood Open Day take place, which included the Field Gun competition on the parade ground behind the Atlantic Building.

The DOC is pleased to sponsor the A and B teams from Collingwood. The rainy weather just about held off but sadly it was not to be Collingwoods year this year.

The two Collingwood teams (A team shown in the green tops), missed out on the coveted Brickwoods Trophy and HMS Seahawk (pictured in yellow) kept it’s winning title for the third year running.

The teams and their sponsors will be having their end of season dinner at the DOC on Wednesday 10th July.

  1. My father trained the field guns crew and appeared at Earls court London. I think it would have been 1954. I have a copy of his service record from when he joined the navy at the age of 14. At HMS Ganges.
    i would love to know if there are any photographs including him, to show my children and grandchildren.
